Fresh Tomato Sauce

Creamy, savory tomato sauce from scratch!

  • 1/3 cup homemade cashew milk (see recipe), water, or non-dairy milk of choice
  • 2 Large (ideally heirloom) Tomatoes
  • 1/4 Cup Olive Oil
  • 1/3 Cup Raw Cashews
  • 1/2 Yellow Onion
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 Red Pepper (Optional)
  • 1 Large Carrot
  • Fresh (or dried) Basil
  • Fresh (or dried) Oregano
  • 1/2 Cup Nutritional Yeast (more to taste)
  • Black and Red Pepper
  • Pinch of Pink Salt

  1. Chop onions, carrots, and red pepper and simmer in a few tablespoons olive oil over medium heat for five minutes.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes, garlic, raw cashews, cashew milk/water, and all spices, salt and pepper to taste. 
  3. Let simmer on low/med heat for 15 minutes, then remove from heat and blend. Add more spices, and raw garlic, to taste if needed!
